I. ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS

Hung K. Nguyen studied “Electronic Engineering” for both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees at the Vietnam National University, Hanoi, Vietnam. He received his bachelor’s degree in 2003. After receiving his bachelor’s degree, He worked as an intern at the Research Center of Electronics and Telecommunications. In 2006, He received a master’s degree in electronic engineering from VNU University of Engineering and Technology (VNU-UET). Before pursuing his PhD’s degree, He worked as a researcher at the Laboratory for Smart Integrated Systems at VNU University of Engineering and Technology for two years. In 2008, He went to Southeast University, Nanjing, China to get his PhD. He received a PhD degree in Microelectronics and Solid State Electronics from Southeast University in 2013.

After getting his PhD’s degree, He returned to VNU University of Engineering and Technology to continue his research in VLSI design. He works currently as an assistant professor and senior researcher at VNU Key Laboratory for Smart Integrated Systems. His research interests mainly include AI, Reconfigurable Computing, VLSI and SoC designs, and Embedded Systems.

II. PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCES

When He studied at Southeast University, his PhD thesis focused on reconfigurable computing techniques. During that time, he also has a chance to work on a key project about Designing a Reconfigurable Computing System-on-Chip for Multimedia. These three years of experience has given me the solid experience in the areas of multimedia processing, reconfigurable computing, VLSI design and ARM-based SoC design.
After he returned to Vietnam, he works as a senior Researcher at VNU-UET Key Laboratory for Smart Integrated Systems. He was the primary researcher for a NAFOSTED-funded project about Reconfigurable Solutions for Network-on-Chip. He has led a project funded by Vietnam National University, No. QG.16.33, on Multimedia Specific Coarse-grained Reconfigurable Architecture. He is currently working on a project funded by the Ministry of Science and Technology, whose purpose is to design a night/day vision systems for security. His primary research interests focus on the “embedded system design, multimedia processing, reconfigurable computing techniques, VLSI design and SoC designs” with an emphasis on the “reconfigurable computing SoC”.
He is also an experienced teacher at VNU-UET Faculty of Electronic and Telecommunication, specializing in Embedded Computing System Design, IC Design, VLSI and FPGA Technology. In addition, he also joins in supervising both undergraduate and postgraduate degrees.
